COLLEEN MACDONALD 
 

Colleen MacDonald is a professional engineer with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Memorial University, a Master’s in Civil Engineering (specialization in Project Management) from University of Calgary and a Master of Laws in Energy and Infrastructure from Osgoode Hall Law School. She most recently has been a Senior Construction Manager with BC Hydro on the Site C Clean Energy Project and previously MEG Energy’s SAGD Drilling Contracts Manager during MEG’s initial growth phase.​

 

Other experiences include working for various engineering, procurement, and construction consulting firms such as Bantrel and Fluor in the Oil and Gas sector in Calgary. Her previous board work includes serving as Co-Chair of Contracts Best Practices Committee of the Construction Owners Association of Alberta for 4 years, one term as a Director with Autism Calgary, board member of Alberta White Water Association and in the mid 90’s served on the Development Appeal Board for the City of Airdrie.

 

Colleen is a mother, grandmother, knitter, voracious reader, and obsessed dog (Yorkie) mom. She recently had a new home constructed in Blairmore, has relocated from Calgary, and would welcome an opportunity to contribute to the effective governance as an ethical Councillor with the Municipality of the Crowsnest Pass, while creating life giving community connections for herself and the people of the Pass.

A soon to be retired Professional Engineer with 30+ years of construction and contract management experience in various industry sectors, a mother and grandmother seeking an enriching opportunity to be fully engaged and make a difference in our beautiful mountain community. Myself and my husband have owned secondary recreational properties in the CNP for the past 15 years and have recently permanently relocated to Blairmore from Calgary. My husband, Mark, is an avid fly fisherman, golfer, downhill skier, and freestyle ski judge. I am a dog owner, livelong learner, and accomplished knitter/test knitter.
